WELCOMEchristian school

christian school"Through Christ-centered education we, in partnership with the home, are committed to challenging students to pursue a life of Godly character, service to others and developing personal and academic excellence."

What I like about our mission statement is that it immediately tells us that our education at SCS must be Christ-centered. It is through "Christ-centered glasses" that everything must be viewed. Our view of the child, our view of the curriculum, and our view of pedagogy must all be "Christ-centered". That is a big challenge for us as teachers, but one that we are called to provide.

Another part of our mission statement says that our education occurs "in partnership with the home". Education happens everywhere. At home and school, we want to work together to give our children the tools and insights to make responsible decisions in today's culture. In addition, our goal is to provide an education that will "challenge students to pursue a life of Godly character and service to others." What an awesome task a Christian school has! We live in a society that promotes hedonism and selfishness. We can¹t shelter our children from some of these influences but we can give them the insights needed to make wise decisions, in order to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

"Developing personal and academic excellence" is another part of our task at SCS. Christian education needs to bring out the very best in our students. We must strive to do our best because we serve the King of Kings, who gave us His best.

Stouffville Christian School is an exciting place to be. Come join us as we seek to teach the next generation.
To God be the glory.
