UNIFORMS
Stouffville Christian School Uniform Policy:
How and When the Uniform is to be Worn For all Students:
- The formal dress uniform will be required every Wednesday and for all field trips, photographs, concerts and Chapel days. Chapel days are usually Wednesdays.
- On regular school days, students may wear clothing on the informal uniform list.
- The blouse or shirt is to be of such a nature that it can remain neatly tucked in the skirt or pants or shorts.
- No coloured or patterned tee shirts are to be worn under the uniform shirt.
- The tunic/kilt may be worn up to 2 inches above the knee as measured from the top of the kneecap.
- No sandals or shoes/boots above the ankle are to be worn indoors.
- Only SCS cardigans, pullovers or sweatshirts are to be worn for warmth indoors. Jackets and heavy shirts are not to be worn in the classroom.
- Students in grades 1-8 are required to wear the SCS gym uniform for all gym classes.
- Visible tattoos are unacceptable.
- Visible body piercing other than earrings, are unacceptable.
- Make-up may be worn if applied at home. Make-up is not to be carried to or stored at school.
- When casual dress is permitted, all clothing must be modest, neat, and clean as determined by staff. (Spaghetti strap tops/dresses, bare midriffs and offensive slogans or graphics are unacceptable.)
- If a student does not comply with the uniform and casual dress guidelines, the classroom teacher will deal with the issue or if appropriate, the office administrator, at which point the parents will be contacted to provide the proper dress.
